Pico

Located at 38o 30’N and 28o 20’W, Pico Island is located 4.5 mi from Faial Island and 11 mi from São Jorge.

It has 447 km2, 42 km long and 15 km wide, and a population of 14,806 inhabitants.

Considered by UNESCO World Heritage site, the landscape of Pico Vineyards has now been elected, also, one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal, in the category of great rugged surfaces. The landscape of thevolcanic island of Pico is notable for its beauty and lush landscape, where you can enjoy the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean and see the islands of the central group.

Its mountain stands at 2351 m altitude, being the highest mountain in Portugal, and the third largest in the Atlantic, making Pico one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the world.
